WA's own Plastic Free Places program
WA Plastic Free* is the WA project for Boomerang Alliance's Plastic Free Places program.
We support food retailers adapt to the Western Australian State Government’s Plan for Plastics, assisting them to switch from single-use plastics to better alternatives and empowering them to become 'Plastic Free Champions'.
But... that's just the beginning. We also work with councils, suppliers, manufacturers and composters to deliver real solutions to businesses.
And if that's not enough.. we aim to inspire our community (i.e. YOU) to make changes in your own life and support those businesses that do too.
*This project is funded by the WA Government's Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, and the Commonwealth Government under the Plastic Free Beaches program. We also receive funding from the WA Government's Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions to work within the Swan Canning Riverpark, under the Plastic Free Riverpark program.

Our impact so far...

Our impact as at June 1 2023 is...
*Plastic Free Champions are members that have eliminated all of our key plastic items (straws, coffee cups & lids, takeaway containers & lids, food ware (cutlery, plates, cups etc), water bottles & bags).
